Welcome!

Spring 2020 Meeting Time
Every Friday @ 2:00 pm
In accordance with the university's response to COVID-19, ASUREI will not be holding anymore public in-person meetings or subcommittee meetings for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester. Although a difficult move for our organization to make, it helps to ensure the well-being and safety of students on-campus as well as members of ASUREI itself during this difficult time. Despite this, applications are open for student committee member and board member positions for the following semester, Fall 2020, and any returning Appalachian State students interested in the joining the team are greatly encouraged to apply! Stay tuned for further updates on application deadlines, news about our organization, and more! Below is a direct link to our available applications.

The Appalachian State Renewable Energy Initiative is a student-led, student-funded organization that seeks to install renewable energy and energy efficiency projects on campus. Projects can be proposed by any student, and are carried out with the help of faculty and staff advisors by the REI committee. Since its inception in 2005, the REI has funded a number of projects, including the Broyhill Wind Turbine, which, until recently, was the largest wind turbine in North Carolina.
