We are extremely grateful to the students of Appalachian State for deciding to take action and contribute $5 each semester in order to bring renewable energy projects to our campus.

With the momentum of the REI continually growing, your contribution can assist the university in educating our students on the benefits of energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy production.

While the REI is charged with bringing renewable energy projects to the campus of ASU, our goal is to advocate for a sustainable approach to global climate change and energy independence. Your contribution will help our committee not only bring more renewable energy systems to the campus but will also help to educate students about the importance of energy conservation, our greatest and most effective renewable energy.

Carbon Seminars Now at the Green Exchange
Peter Fusaro's popular carbon seminars are now to be hosted at the Green Exchange starting in October. Over 700 people have taken Global Change Associates introductory carbon seminar. Because of that increased demand for carbon market education, Global Change Associates is now offering its advanced carbon trading course at the Green Exchange. Both courses will be taken place at NYMEX in New York from October 14 through 16, 2008.
IREC Report Shows Solar Markets Booming
Solar markets are booming in the United States according to a new report from the Interstate Renewable Energy Council. U.S. Solar Market Trends for 2007 is a comprehensive report on U.S. solar installations by technology, state and market sector. Larry Sherwood wrote the report and the U.S. Department of Energy through the Solar America Initiative (SAI) provided the funding.

Solar Could Supply 12% of EU Electricity by 2020
The European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA), gathered together with the 50 of the industry's top CEOs for a meeting in Valencia, Spain at the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition, to redefine industry objectives in the light of recent technology progress and the context of rising energy prices. The industry unanimously agreed that photovoltaic energy could provide 12% of European electricity demand by 2020.
GreenHunter Acquires Biomass Plant in Florida
Greenhunter Renewable Power LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GreenHunter Energ, Inc. announced the closing of an acquisition of an existing 14-megawatt (MW) wood waste-fired biomass power plant located in Telogia, Florida. The plant, Telogia Power LLC, and an associated entity, Telogia Power Unit #2 LLC, were acquired from CQ BioPower Producers, a subsidiary of CQ, Inc.
Duke Seeks Suppliers for 16-MW Solar Plan
Duke Energy Carolinas is seeking bids from solar power companies to supply solar panels, electrical equipment and installation services as part of the utility's proposed US $100 million North Carolina solar plan.
National Wind Acquires Delphi Financial
National Wind LLC, announced on Thursday that it has completed its acquisition of Delphi Financial Corp. Founded in 1990, Delphi Financial Corp. has raised capital for a wide array of companies, both private and public. In recent years, Delphi Financial Corp. has specialized in working with renewable energy projects.
Suntech to Supply The North Face with 1-MW of Solar Panels
Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd. announced it has been selected to supply 5,445 Suntech solar panels for a 1-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) system at The North Face's West Coast distribution center in Visalia, California. The system will be installed by EI Solutions, on RayTracker GC single-axis solar trackers.

FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and BP Solar announced today the completion and activation of a second project together—a solar system for a FedEx Freight distribution center in Fontana, Calif. U.S. Wind Energy Installations Top 20 Gigawatts
